A visit from the Librarian
17th Apr 2026
The boys and girls were very privileged to have a visit from the lovely Aileen who works in our local library in Newtownards. She spent time with each class explaining all the cool things you can do in a library including borrowing books for free as well as building lego and even craft club.
In P1 and P2 she read 2 stories to us. A lovely story about Bo Peep and a silly story called "Press the Button". It made us all laugh and Mrs Milford loved when it put the boys and girls to sleep at the end.
In P3 and P4 Aileen read I don't Like Books Never. Ever. The End. by Emma Perry and Think Big by Kes Gray and Nathan Reed. We also had a story quiz with the children having top guess the story from picture clues.
In KS2, she explained all about how we can use the computers in the library for research and borrow as many as 9 books at a time.
Thank you so much for visiting our school Aileen and we will look out for you in the library!
