Building a Digestive System

9th Oct 2020

Today P5/6 built a model of the digestive system. They used their hands (representing the mouth, tongue and teeth) to crush up a banana and biscuits (soft and hard food). They then put them into a zip bag (stomach) and churned it up with water (saliva) and juice (stomach acid and bile). Next they poured the mixture into a pair of tights (small intestines) and squeezed the nutrients into a bowl (body). They then squeezed the remainder into a cup with a hole in the end (large intestines). Lots of mess, lots of learning and lots of fun!
