Cloud Watching with P3/4 ⛅
19th Feb 2026
Today was finally a dry day, and P3/4 took full advantage of the better weather by heading outside to become cloud watchers. Armed with their cloud spotters, the pupils examined the sky to identify the different types of clouds above Loughries.
It didn’t take long for the class to notice that, although the rain had stopped, the sky was still covered in a thick blanket of cloud. This led to an exciting discovery — the children were mostly seeing stratus clouds, which often appear as low, uniform layers covering the whole sky.
The class really enjoyed being real-life weather detectives!
