Eco Club

5th Jun 2018

Have a look at the exciting things Eco-Club have been getting up to over the past couple of weeks! We have been focussing on making our school more bio-diverse by tidying up the flower bed and planting lots of new plants and flowers which we have been looking after. We also had a very interesting visit from Noeleen Farry from the local Ards and North Down Borough Council. Noeleen works as a Biodiversity expert and helped us to become scientists for the day and discover what kind of wildlife we have on our school grounds. First she introduced us to a contraption called a 'pooter' that sucked the insects and bugs into a container, then with the use of our microscopes and factfiles we could examine them more closely and decide what type of insect or creature they were. We found loads of interesting species and had a great time learning about them!
