P3/4 trip to Mount Stewart

P3/4 visited Mount Stewart today and were able to walk around the Mansion House which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. They learned about getting ready for Christmas in 1950s Post-War NI where there was still rationing and a “make do and mend” attitude. They took part in lots of lovely activities including watching  how to make a Christmas cake with the cook, singing carols with the school mistress and learning about toys/gifting with Nanny in the Nursery. The fourth activity was 1950s Christmas craft in the ED Shed. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful learning opportunity.
