Ulster Scots After School Club!
Today Alan visited our school to play the bagpipes for our children. He gave us a lively and engaging performance, allowing everyone to hear the unique and powerful sound of this traditional instrument. Alan also spoke to the children about the history of the bagpipes and their importance in Ulster-Scots culture, helping to bring the music to life.
During the Ulster-Scots workshop, the children had the opportunity to learn more about local heritage, language, and traditions. They discovered new vocabulary, listened to traditional tunes, and explored how music and culture are connected.
This visit provided many benefits for the children. It helped to develop their understanding of cultural identity and respect for different traditions. The workshop also supported listening and communication skills, encouraged curiosity, and gave pupils a fun, hands-on learning experience outside the usual classroom routine. Overall, it was an enjoyable and educational day that brought history and culture to life.
