World Book Day 📚

5th Mar 2026

What a wonderfully busy and exciting day we had in P3/4!

To celebrate World Book Day, everyone arrived looking cosy and comfortable in their pyjamas or favourite comfy clothes. A big highlight of the day was our Design a Spud competition —every entry was absolutely fantastic, and the judges will certainly have a tough job choosing the winners!

We were also very lucky to welcome Noel from the Arc21 Recycling Project, who taught us all about recycling and explained why the council no longer uses the dump—mainly because of the smell! The children even got to sample a scent very similar to what you might find at a dump, which resulted in plenty of disgusted (but amused!) faces. Noel also showed us a range of items made from recycled materials before P3/4 had the opportunity to use recycled materials themselves to create their very own junk turtles.

To finish off the day, P3/4 enjoyed a relaxing creative session making bookmarks with Miss Ferguson.

It was a great day filled with creativity, learning, and plenty of fun!
